Ultra Cycle

Tarbert to Campbeltown.
Distance
: 75 miles

A tough but achievable multi terrain race over a 75 mile route that criss crosses the Kintyre peninsula with over 2400 metres of ascent. This is an arduous event suitable for mountain bike or Cyclocross machines.
With  mechanical support from Wheels cycle mechanics throughout the course, breakdown recovery, chip timing, 2 fuel stations and other water points, we aim to ensure an enjoyable and successful day out.
The finish is on the Green in the heart of Campbeltown where hot food, drinks, showers and entertainment will be provided.

A map pack and GPx file will be sent out to competitors in the weeks before the event .

Bike hire is available for the Ultra Cycle, provided by our partners at Wheels Cycling Centre, Callander. This is the hassle free option to have a high quality Cyclocross or Mountain bike delivered to the start of the event. Just turn up and ride. No need to worry at the end, your bike is collected from the finish without any worries of cleaning or servicing. Contact John to arrange your booking and find out more details..

Check-in:
Entrants should aim to check in at The Isthmus, Tarbert PA29 6SX (OS 857684) on Friday 4th May between 16:00 and 21:30. There will a bike doctor service as part of checking in. In exceptional circumstances, (e.g. you are coming from Campbeltown!) cyclists may check in between 07:00 and 08:00 on Saturday 5th May. If there are sufficient competitiors arriving by ferry in Campbeltown we can make arrangements for transport of bikes and riders to the Registration and  Start location.

Start of race:  From 8:00 Cyclists will start individually at the discretion of the traffic marshal and be timed as they start.

Entry fee per person: £69 by 31st March.
